5 Things they DON'T tell about pregnancy

But moms, you Should Know....

People tell you that your breasts will get bigger and hurt when you are pregnant, and you will pee more often. You will gain weight and have weird cravings, and you will most definitely become more emotional. Sounds like a load of fun, huh? But what are they not telling you about pregnancy?

You have weird dreams. So many hormones and lack of actual sleep (you will not be able to get comfortable enough to get real, deep sleep- even early on) will wreak havoc on your dreams- but it isn’t always bad! You will have some really funny dreams to talk about, so enjoy it!

You drool more because pregnant women produce more saliva. In fact, they produce three-fourths a quart a day! Why all the spit? Again- hormonal changes. You will drool when you sleep, when you chew gum, and when you eat. Hey, it’s better than the other thing that does happen closer to going into labor for some women- extreme dehydration and dry mouth.

You get veiny. As blood flow is increased, your body pumps nutrients to your baby through your veins and that makes them stand out even more. For some women, the size of veins never goes down, but for most it will. The best way to help alleviate the appearance of these is to drink plenty of water and stay active.

You get constipated and it can be extremely painful. All the changes to your body, diet, and weight gain can really do a number on your body, and that includes your digestive system. Pump yourself full of water and fiber to make sure this doesn’t happen to you.

You will have shooting pains in your cervix and if you have never experienced them before, you may think something is terribly wrong or like you are in labor. Short “zaps” of pain like this are normal, no matter how uncomfortable they are. Prolonged pain, however, can be dangerous and you will need to seek a doctor’s help and advice.

10 Tips Healthy Pregnancy & Safe Delivery

 *******  pregnancy tips *******

Staying healthy while you’re pregnant doesn’t need to be hard. Although you may have your weak moments it is possible to stay relatively healthy while growing that beautiful baby in your belly. Check out these 10 top tips for having a healthy pregnancy.

#1. Vitamins are Important
Although you’d like to skip the vitamin, it’s more important than you might realize. A multivitamin helps you get the nutrients you need to grow your baby.

#2. Stay Active
Exercise doesn’t look the same for every pregnant woman. The most important thing is that you stay as active as you want. Just keep in mind that staying active and exercising only strengthens you. If you have any questions, you should talk to your doctor.

#3. Talk to Someone
Holding in your feelings for months isn’t going to help you stay healthy. Staying healthy mentally is right up there with staying healthy emotionally and physically.

#4. Get Educated
If you want to have a healthy pregnancy, it never hurts to get as educated as possible. Take the time to go to pregnancy classes, read information online, or even talk to a friend.

#5. Weight Gain
Ah, we know no one wants to hear about this part of pregnancy, but weight gain is a part of pregnancy. The amount of weight you gain is really only between you and your doctor.

#6. Eat the Right Foods
It’s so tempting to munch on all the wrong things, but it is so important to get those healthy foods in your body. Just try and eat one healthy thing at a time to make sure you are staying on track with eating the right foods.

#7. Fish is Good
Although some pregnant women want/need to avoid fish while pregnant, most pregnant women can have this delightful dish. Even if you’ve never craved fish before getting pregnant, you might find that you like its light and fresh taste.

#8. Stay Protected
Let’s face it: there are a lot of things you just can’t do anymore. Instead of getting mad about it, embrace it. Know that you’re providing a safe haven for your baby to grow as healthy as possible.

#9. Get Some Sleep
Your body is growing a human being. Now is the time to get as much sleep as you can. In fact, there’s not a better time to let your body rest then when you’re pregnant.

#10. Don’t Get Embarrassed
Your body is going to do some incredible things over these next nine months. One way to stay healthy on a mental basis is to have fun with your pregnancy. You might have gas at one point or even rip a pair of pants (who knows what will happen). The bottom line is to have fun with it and don’t get embarrassed during this time in your life. Our advice is to embrace it all.
Going through a pregnancy will have its ups and downs, but it’s one of the most incredible things you’ll ever experience. Try to follow these tips for a healthy pregnancy experience but always talk to your doctor about any medical advice.

Tips:Fatigue During Pregnancy

*** Tips avoid fatigue during pregnancy ***

Pregnancy is hard work. In the first trimmest, a huge amount of energy goes into building a life-support system for your baby. Following a period of renewed energy, sleep becomes elusive in the third trimester as your growing fetus puts more demands on your changing body.

So, what can you do to cope?
Listent to your body. Go to bed earlier. Make a habit of taking a nap. Rest as needed. Above all, pace yourself and prioritise – you can’t do it all, nor should you try. That’s right, fold those towels later, and leave the dishes for someone else.

Eat right and eat often. You should be consuming 300 (healthy) extra calories a day and eating a well-balanced diet. That’s right, the same old record is still playing – fruits, veggies, protein and essential fats. Keep your blood sugar on an even level to stabilise your energy. Don’t skip meals and snack.

Hydrate. Cut back on caffeine and drink lots of water. But cut out liquids a couple of hours before bed, to prevent additional bathroom breaks from interrupting your sleep.

Adjust your schedule. This means cutting out any unnecessary social commitments and reorganising household responsibilities. If you are stretching yourself too thin, reduce stress by realistically reassessing your obligations.

Move! That’s right – exercise will make you feel energised and sleep better. It’s a cycle, and the benefits are huge – just don’t overdue it. A brisk walk is enough to get those endorphins pumping and give you a more restful sleep.

Wait it out. To some degree, you will just have to hang in there. Your body is making some pretty amazing changes, and it isn’t easy. Get through it by looking ahead and getting excited. Try planning a weekend getaway or organising the baby room.

Be smart. If your fatigue persists, lasts too long or causes you to feel dizzy, to faint or to feel extremely weak – go see your dr. immediately.
